Main Hall Decor (WIP Day 8 of 23)

Day 8 : River of Life - A personal favourite of mine amongst all others. You be able to tell from this x-tra lenghty write-up :o). An accidental discovery of the painter's liking for pyschedelic style of painting. See the vivid identity through mood of the kaleidoscopically swirling patterns? This as I know was an inner reflection or outward expression of the painter's intense emotional state at that point in time - deflecting it towards the canvas ..oopps! I meant Styrofoam..over several recent challenging life situations ;o). If you have seen or downloaded the actual picture from the internet, the original colour scheme of this piece is more understated, unappealing and boring infact. The painter's started with a bizzare and virbrant colours from the top. As it moves down to the bottom, the hue changes to somewhat turquoise or blue-ish shade, however the twirling waves looking patterns remained. Perhaps, the painter's state of emotion have calmed down but not quite,.. suppresed rather. It seems that the painter struggles with the moon and dancers initially as the download picture was not as clear or vivid (small thumbnail and of low resolution quality). The moon was painted over and over again for at least 3 to 4x! till it works. Also the outlined dancers was not propotionally, the painter decided to take a bold step to go even more psychedelic (if there is such a word for it). The dancers are form with hundres of non-straights lines and outrageous colour scheme and Yes!, even the moon was not painted in straight lines, giving it an overall non-conventional and contemporary look and feel - so he hope. Not sure how successful he has being in interpretating this piece of work......Your verdict? :o)

....and whatever the verdict..a personal thank you to whomever who have picked up this piece. Am sure the painter will appreciate it God bless! :o)

Kung Fu Praya: Need I say more?...this a gem...drawn by 'The Kungfu Praya Artist'. The key to this is the Panda's eyes...which only took the painter less than 10 strokes to emulate an almost translucent 'marble/glass like' peering eyes! If you have a chance seeing upclose, take note of the soft white fur..very convincingly realistic indeed. Kudos to you Kung Fu master! :o) Sifu, you may wish to comments your own interpretation of this wonderful art piece!

Manna Mia : A caring friend popped over to help out with the finishing touch (she also brought hand packed dinner). Portrait is never easy what more drawing an elegance happy go lucky lady!..but surprising we pulled through this lively piece and we think we done enough justice to the original artwork. We enjoyed emulating the skirt/gown. It was fun and was actually not as difficult as it seems ;o) The original is Caucasian where else this one looks more Asian-ised though because of her squinty eyes! The painter like the new twist and decided not to mimic/copy 100% and thus left it as it is ;o)

  1. I had the most fun painting this Kung Fu Praya :) Thanks for your very kind words Mun Loong. It took more than 10 strokes lah :) and I am no where as good as you. I too had a rough few days before painting the panda. Painting is indeed good for stress release :) lol.
